PROBLEM: How do I permanently forward my Pegasus Mail?

When you migrate from the Pegasus Mail system to something new, such as Microsoft Exchange or Novell Groupwise, you want to be sure that all your e-mail is forwarded to your new address.

SOLUTION:

First, be sure to update the e-mail address that is stored in the UAB Electronic Phonebook. Your short, @uab.edu e-mail address can be used to direct e-mail to your new location.

Second, ask the system administrator who manages your Pegasus mail system to use a utility called "pconfig". This utility allows the sysadmin to forward a user's mail. After running "pconfig" from a DOS window while logged in as supervisor, select "Grant extended feature rights" from the main menu. If the login ids are not all ready in the list, press the insert key. This should give a list of all the login id. Select the users you want to forward mail. This should add them to the "Enable extended feature" list. From there, select an id and enter the forwarding information. Exit and save the settings.
