This service is intended as a vehicle to disseminate official content (where 'official' is defined by appropriate authority within the university) to defined populations of UAB employees and students, and then to record acknowledgement that the information has been viewed and understood.

Once a population has been defined, BEDROC can automatically notify its intended recipients that the resource is available for viewing (including new members as people are hired or enroll), and can issue reminders at periodic intervals. Summary and detail reporting is available for appropriate authorities to aid in determining coverage and where further attention is required to "get the word out" via non-electronic means.

Some examples of recent BEDROC use include the required training components of HIPAA, Effort Reporting, and Diversity Awareness. BEDROC is integrated with the UABIT production WebCT Vista e-learning platform, and the HRM Development and Training database.

The BEDROC site provides links where staff and students can review the status of their current requirements, and authorized persons can request tracking reports for their areas.
